Title: The Silver Swan Automaton of Bowes Museum
Lecture presented by Jonathan Peacock, volunteer at the Bowes Museum.
Jonathan has been researching the life and times of Joseph Merlin, the inventor of the automaton that operates the Silver Swan.

Lecture presented by Anthony Atkinson, JP, MA(Cantab), ACA.
A chartered accountant with an interest in history. A Newcastle City guide and volunteer guide for The Friends fo the Laing, and Newcastle's Lit and Phil.
Venue: Scarborough Lecture Theatre

Christmas Music, Carols and Verse, followed by seasonal refreshments
Venue: Medieval Hall at Crook Hall, Frankland Lane, Durham City. Refreshments afterwards in the care area.

Quiz night with Fish & Chips. Join us for a fun night and test your knowledge once again, have an opportunity to catch up with friends and also make new ones. You are welcome to bring your own drinks, tea and coffee will be provided.

Title: The Horse Keeper's Daughter
Jane is author of non-fiction literature, especially on social history and the second world war.
